The World Cup arrived in Eritrea on a one-day stay through the coordination of FIFA.
On arrival at Asmara International Airport, the Cup received warm welcome on the part of ministers, diplomats, Army commanders, members of the sport community and invited guests.
Speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Sports Commissioner, Maj. General Romodan Osman Awliyay, pointed out that Eritrea is working tirelessly towards the development of sports.
The World Cup which begun its tour in Cairo on September 23 is expected to conduct a stay in 53 African countries.
