Zoba North London organized a special event for families and children to get together and celebrate the end of 2014 and wish for a great 2015 on Sunday 21st of Dec 2014.

Compared to previous years, it was very unique in terms of families, Children, youth and friends of Eritrea’s participation.

The most fascinating show that attracted the participants was when the children were dancing of the 9 Eritrean tribes cultural diversity show. It was amazing and was perfectly done.

H.E. Estifanos Habtemaria, Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to the UK and Ireland made timely speech stressing on Eritrean Unity and diversity that every Eritrean must embrace and celebrate .

He said that our unity, integrity and National interest comes first and more importantly we should look after the youth immigrating from home for various reasons. He stressed that these are the young people who defended the country. So, we need to work hard to support, engage, give them every respect and include them to be part of our community.

Local Councillors and MP’s also attended the event. They were fascinated to observe our culture, unity and respect. They were very satisfied and expressed their interest to help and participates in future events and festivals.

The Enfield Councilor Ertan Hurer made a remarkable speech and spoke about Eritrea’s road map: “Self-reliance doctrine”, which is unique in Africa and important for every country in the world. He also stated “self-reliance should also start at home.”

He stressed that ” we as migrants shouldn’t depend on Benefit.”. He also mentioned that we should work hard to stand by our own feet’s in this uncertain world and volatile economic circumstance.

Prospective MP Candidate Mrs Gunul Daniels also made a speech and promised if she is elected as MP in the upcoming May general election she will stand for Eritrea in Parliament Debates and bring attention of the Eritrean cause to the House of Commons.

On the whole it was successful event because of the variety of activities, greater participation of Eritreans of three generation’s and also greater input from Local friends and politicians.
