ናብ Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea ብደብዳቤ ተሰኒዩ ተላኢኩ ዘሎ ድምጽኩም “ሰናይ ንባብ”

Dear The Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea,

This is an email to notify you about the response to the online petition against the COI report on Eritrea. The online petition was started on December 24th of 2015 within about 20 days at the second of writing this email it has been signed by 2,801 people and 1,481 people gave their comments against the COI report . The petition shall continue and you would be given an official report once target is met.

You can see the petition, the signatures and comments at the reputable petition website:
http://www.ipetitions.com/…/call-to-petition-to-all-eritrea…
We are aware up today, you are receiving many thousands of real testimonies and witness statements against the COI report you have written with a political motive but with a pretext of the human right of Eritreans.
The Eritrea people expect you to amend and withdraw the politically motivated report. Perhaps you may recommend UN to review the historically human right atrocity it has committed against the people of Eritrea, these includes but not limited to:
1. The illegal injustice of the annexation of Eritrea with Ethiopia
2. Ignoring the voice and suffering of Eritreans during the 30 years struggle
3. The none implementation of the EEBC decision that confirmed Badme belongs to Eritrea and endorsing the occupation of Badme ( Eritrea’s land) by Ethiopia for over 13 years
4. Denying Eritrea the right to development through illegal sanctions for over 5 years
5. For the defamatory incorrect accusation through COI report at a time when Eritrea is doing well and developing.

From the signature and comments provided, from the many letters and email you have received so far Eritrean people have given you the clear message that they disagree with the method you collected the incorrect data you used to produce the erroneous report.

In your report you have said you have been denied the right to go inside Eritrea. As sovereign countries Eritrea has every right to make background check to analyse the motives of those who try to travel to Eritrea allow and deny entries accordingly.

Nevertheless, we find it an unacceptable the lack of interest from the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea giving values to report from reputable international agencies and diplomats. The following are some of the examples which you may take in to consideration:
1.https://www.nyidanmark.dk/…/0/EritreareportEndeligversion.p…

2.http://www.tesfanews.net/mediation-as-a-not-so-modern-conc…/

3.http://www.er.undp.org/…/2014/08/ERITREAkeepingHIVAIDSatbay…

4.http://www.tesfanews.net/my-visit-to-the-bisha-mine/

The accusation made against Eritrea are contradictory to the independently verified facts in the ground. For example if the accusation of wide spread Sexual slavery and rape in the National service was wide spread and true, then really the health improvement that is identified in the UN millennium development report in particular the reduction of the HIV/AIDS prevalence rate would have been impossible to achieve. The above UNDP website confirms:

” HIV prevalence rates below the 1% mark in 2013. The estimate of HIV prevalence amongst adults is 0.6%, down from 1.3% in 2005. The average for Sub-Saharan countries was 4.7% in 2013.”
The Eritrean military service has been too long and has unfortunately had been one of the cause for the human trafficking of Eritreans youth and the main cause of this tragedy is the delay of UN to end the occupation of Badme.

If the Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea cares about the human right then it can help by making the right suggestions that Eritrea is treated justly and make the right recommendation for the illegal sanction to be annulled and tell Ethiopia to vacate sovereign Eritrean territory.

Within a short period of time, we’re confident you have been overwhelmed by the true voice of Eritreans I hope you have felt the real heart bit of the people of Eritreans.

Reflecting and learning from your mistake would be a great advantage for the world we live in.
Peace for the people of Eritrea and all the world.

Many thanks,
